Teaching Philosophy - Working with Children

I believe that the only way to learn spoken English is by speaking, as much as possible. Elementary-age students enjoy practicing speaking more when it can be competitive, cooperative or engage their real-world concerns and interests - that is why I like using debate and in-class presentations. These methods are effective in promoting teamwork and also in helping to connect to out-of-classroom research skills.

Children learn most effectively when they are having fun and happy. I saw a Korean proverb recently in an advertisement that captures this idea: "즐거운 상상은 불가능을 모릅니다."
